Days Like Today.
Days like today remind me of how fortunate I am. I wake up every day with a sense of purpose. So often, people just stagger about from place to place restless and unhappy because they have no idea how to commit their time and energy. I don't have to worry about that anymore because nothing brings me greater joy than to spend my time and energy loving my lovely, wonderful girlfriend.
I truly feel that it is my purpose in life to bring her happiness; whether that entails making her laugh, helping her feel comfortable and settled, or by simply being close by when she needs some encouragement, I love every second of it. We struggle with certain things and we both have our weaknesses (who doesn't), but it amazes me how well we compliment each other. She truly compensates for my faults, and if she had any (I'm quite certain that she does not) I would attempt to do the same for her.
My great-aunt once said that the key to living a long and happy life was to have something to look forward to everyday. No matter how trivial, everyone should have something to be excited about in their future. There are so many things for me to be excited about right now, and as far as the next few months are concerned....I can't wait.
