hey everyone! bet you thought i left the livejournal world! :)
things have been pretty crazy lately. i found a new job, which i started today.. i'm a service clerk (cashier) at walgreens on roan. i think i'll like it. i'm completely through with my computer training process (it took from 11:30am-5pm to complete) fun fun fun. i get to do some actual training tomorrow with betty. she's the older woman i chatted with the day of my interview. i got a locker too, which i couldn't get open for the first ten minutes! such luck! but i finally got it open and things went fine.
we get a thity minute lunch break, a couple 15 min breaks and whatnot throughout the day :) they've got excellent benefits and good pay along with full time hours (40 baby!) thats great. the people there seem pretty cool, but you know how things feel so awkward the first day or two. the newbie feeling.
anyway, i quit the jameson due to the fact that the position i had been training for.. laundry & assistant to the executive (supposed to become the exec when joyce quit) well.. the new manager, jim, had decided to shit can that idea and told me i would be knocked back to a general housekeeper and i'd be put on yet another four months of probation with no hope of getting a raise. screw that. so i left, my last day was tuesday. i got the call on monday to come into walgreens for my interview on wednesday. i got the job that interview and was told my first day would be today (monday the 18) so that was that. i spent wednesday & thursday here in tn.. thursday my mom came to visit me.. we had a blast! we went to bristol motor speedway where i got osme insight on how to go about getting a job there. woo! we ate at the nascar cafe (awesome food y'all! we got the jarrett platter) and we went shopping. have i ever mentioned that i have a thing for ross stores? yeah.. but moving along..
so friday came around, i stayed here until i got my check, cashed it.. did some errands (including packing up jeff's food for his huntin' trip he took friday night & saturday) then headed over to my parents house. i spent the weekend in nc. came home sunday afternoon and that was that. so there ya go, my life the past few weeeks in a nutshell.
i'm trying to work on a new years resolution i made for myself in jan. i wanted to try and recconnect with some old friends and whatnot from high school, etc.. so i wrote one of my high school friends a letter after digging up her address... my first attempt to reconnect was with my cousin in fl, jessica. she just had her baby amaya last week.. so maybe i'll still hear something :)
