Memories of the Mangalore Trip

Recently (well I know I have been lazy it was 2 months ago) had been to Palm Groves resort in Mangalore, in a place called Yermal, which is about 30 mins journey from Mangalore, was a fantastic place, a good getaway and a complete haven if you have a girlfriend and like some time in peace, without being too far away from civilization.

Well, I also would like to warn everyone, DONOT NEVER EVER take the sleeper bus to Mangalore, we were tossed around like some vegetables on a hot pan, although it was supposed to be a sleeper, we actually couldn’t sleep the entire night !..well its another matter that we didn’t want to…cause we were supposedly on a holiday, but some sleep would be required end of the day.

Amidst the throw ball session, Vinay (cherry’s friend) slept like a log. Some people are truly blessed you see. Anyway, Senna by now was sick and tired of my jokes and didn’t even have the energy to beat me This trip was officially to be Senna’s Bachelors party - Dabha but didn’t happen Well its another matter that some people want to be where more fun is, so didn’t accompany us. Actually the road was the problem, it has dilapidated so much that even the best vehicle would have suffered.

So after much hopping and skipping we reached Yermal, and stayed there on the private beaches for about 2 days, the best part of the place was its tranquility and its proximity to the ocean, it was certainly like having a private beach all to yourself and not a soul around most of the times. We also had some “nice” company in the next cottage although the pleasure was very short lived as they vacated the same day.

We did all kinds of hara-kiri, jumped in the high waves, roamed around like crazy, rolled around the beach, climbed on a boat, build a castle, for cherry kinds, it was a time to relax and have a sip (infact some 1000 sips), although we missed a 4 wheeler by now. I as usual wanted to visit a hell a lot of places, by making that place as a base, but that never seemed to happen.

Nobody showed any interest to venture out of their sweet spots, coupled with it, it was raining continuously. Sigh !!...well, that leaves you with some activity next time round.

Although we did manage to go to Mangalore for some dusshera festival that was in place (the same place which was affected by some communal riots recently), but by the time we reached there, everyone was hungry and refused to walk anymore, still I managed to pull them along, although I was the only person to go in and see the temple. EOD I managed to do something extra !.

But the best part came when we actually came back, our skins started peeling and I for instance resembled a snake with my skin shredding all over, I also managed to scare mom by plucking some skin and showing it to her while watching TV, Poor Mom. Some Snaky feeling, I am sure cherry wouldn’t be surprised, cause he is anyways a Snake.

Achievements in the trip
We buried vinay under the sand
We successfully built a castle and put a flag on it
We stood on the footboard of a ravaging bus after a long time.
We ate neer dose - mangalore special
We TRIED to have a bachelors party for senna (trust me it is tough).
We had a blast / break from routine, which was worth the effort, although I still look totally tanned and dark.
