(no subject)
my birthdays would probably be less disappointing if i lowered my expectations.
i was sort of hoping for a big surprise party at work, but that didn't happen.
i did get a happy birthday banner and two cards though.
both my parents called. i legitimately did not hear my phone ring - i think i left it on silent.
i got an email from my oma, who shares my birthday.
i sent her an ecard.
looks like she sent me an ecard in return.
other than that, i treated myself to some free birthday sorbet at coldstone and a long overdue haircut.
oh, and i suppose it counts that my mom got me guitar hero months ago. a couple weeks ago she asked me what i wanted for my birthday. i had to remind her that she had already gotten me something.
i guess birthdays aren't what they used to be.
though, i am taking off tomorrow and monday from work.
still, a nice birthday present would have been if they had told me i didn't need to use my PTO and could just take two free days off for my birthday.
time to finish packing.
i'm waiting for my clothes to dry.
i do find it sort of odd that i am washing clothes before bringing them into the woods, but some of the clothes sat in a basement for a while so they were in need of something before i stuffed them into a bag.
then time for bed.
then time to get up and ride in a car for 7+ hours.
i actually don't mind car rides... usually. the ride back from winnipeg was pretty brutal though. besides, all car rides are better with a dog in the car, right?
