Choral festival tomorrow

The two choirs I accompany for are performing in a choral music festival tomorrow.

Program for the Middle School:
Je Le Vous Dirai! (I'll Tell You Waht I Know!) A madrigal. If I could just get all of the notes, all of the time, it would be funner to play. I don't think they'd like to sing it at my preferred tempo. ;)
Shoshone Love Song. It's beautiful and the harmonies are warm and colorful.  ♥
Tue, Tue (Come, Sing A Song), a folk song from Ghana,  is just so much damn fun to play!  :D

Program for the High School:
Tres Cantos Nativos Dos Indios Krao. An arrangement of 3 native South American songs. At the beginning the sings imitate animal and jungle sounds. It's a Capella so I get to sit back and listen.
Requiem. More about this below.
Walk In Jerusalem, an African American Spiritual, lots of fun!

Requiem was written and dedicated to victims of a natural disaster. I've been teary eyed the two times we've rehearsed it this week, the devastating and heart wrenching scenes of the Japan earthquake and tsunami playing in my mind...

Mother Mary, full of grace, awaken
all our homes are gone, our loved ones taken
taken by the sea
Mother Mary calm our fears, have mercy
drowning in a sea of tears, have mercy
hear our mournful plea

Our world has been shaken, we wander our homelands forsaken
in the dark night of the soul
bring some comfort to us all,
O Mother Mary come and carry us in your embrace
that our sorrows may be faced

Mary, fill the glass to overflowing
illuminate the path where we are going
have mercy on us all
in funeral fires burning each flame to your mystery returning

in the dark night of the soul
your shattered dreamers, make them whole,
O Mother Mary find us where we've fallen out of grace,
lead us to a higher place

In the dark night of the soul our broken hearts you can make whole,
O Mother Mary come and carry us in your embrace,
let us see your gentle face, Mary....
