Still recovering from the weekend. Monster Concert took it out of me.
Congratulations on another successful Monster Concert! I had the honor of sitting next to Jane Bastien during both concerts and know that she was smiling ear-to-ear, tapping her foot, and clapping enthusiastically throughout both shows! Her enthusiastic speeches at the end of the concerts were reflective of her genuine delight with our students and the whole Butte MTAC Monster Concert experience. She really seemed to be impressed, and my understanding is that she has never seen anything quite like this.
Yay! :D Compound that with it being my monthly time and yeah...7:30am this morning came to soon. Kept hitting snooze until finally after 8 I got up to take a shower and shove breakfast down before my first student arrived.
Ran to the bank to take care of the load of profit we made from Monster Concert this weekend.
Then spent the better part of the afternoon with the OHS and CK choirs. The OHS choir had a concert performance this afternoon. It's too bad the students aren't taught proper concert etiquette. Lots of talking and whistling during performance. It didn't help that it was called a 'rally.' *sigh*
The director opted to use an electric keyboard hooked up to the sound system because it's been raining all day and moving the piano in the rain wouldn't have been a good thing. The keyboard is the same dinosaur I played on a couple of years ago in the concert in the park. The pedal didn't work so I did my best with legato playing but there's not much to be done with leaps and chords. Parts of it sounded horrid to my ears!
Came home for a late lunch and a couple of students. I'm waiting for my high school student who should be here soon.
Next up is Chorus rehearsal from 7-9:30pm. We're rehearsing Mozart's Requiem for a March 26th concert.
