Supernatural is super!
Last summer, I started watching Supernatural. I wasn't immediately hooked, but I eventually warmed up to the boys and their freaky occupation. I love the angst in this show! It absolutely kills me (which is good!).
With season 4 just out on DVD recently and season 5 currently on the air, I thought I'd hurry up and get through season 4 and join in on the fun for season 5.
4.01 Lazarus Rising - At first I wasn't sure if Dean was truly out of hell, but as the episode went on it became obvious he was. I related to Bobby's disbelief and towards the end of that scene, it's comical, especially the splash of holy water in the face and Dean's expression! Burning people's eyeballs out of their skulls doesn't seem very angelic but it does make a kind of sense that seeing an angel in its true form would be “unsightly.” I'm also enjoying the fact that something is super important about Dean that he got a free pass out of hell and that Sam, with his psychic gift, is going down a dark path, future uncertain.
4.02 Are You There God? It's Me, Dean Winchester - Love, love, love this title! I can't remember now if was in this episode or the previous, but Dean had a line that was lol. When the angel begins to explain to Dean how God works and Dean's snarky reply is “If you say in mysterious ways, I will kick your ass!” (or something like that, don't remember the exact words) btw, I'm loving the way this angel is moody and warrior like, not at all like the bright happy “Touched by An Angel” angels
4.03 In the Beginning - Wow. Just wow. Now we know. Sam and Dean's mom was a hunter - did not see that coming! Yay Mitch Pileggi! \o/ And yellow eyes is sick-sick-sick for making Mary kiss him/her father! Ick! They say seeing is believing, but poor Dean for having to go through all that. I loved the nod to Back to the Future at the beginning of the episode - that was brilliant! And Dean talking his dad out of buying the van and getting the Impala.
4.04 Metamorphosis - Ick. That's really all I remember.
More random comments:
Sam and Ruby together?!! Also, Sam said he's not going to do his psychic thing anymore (which is all kinds of cool, frightening, and disturbing, btw). I kinda think not (but don't correct me if I'm wrong)
The next disc should arrive from Netlix today.
Since I'm a newbie into the fandom, can anyone rec the best lj comms for Supernatural?
