Hana has a big problem. Her dream of living a life like a queen is getting blurry. Who would have thought that the White Witch would see through her and will make her sign a stupid pre-nuptial agreement?! That means, she would be the queen when Ryo eventually inherited the company; but only in paper. So what’s the use of being a queen if you don’t have anything to show for it! She read the document for a hundredth time looking for a loophole but she can’t find one. She stared at the folder on the coffee table as if it was ominous and would swallow her whole. She’s still having second thoughts if she would sign it or not.
She may not be in love with Ryo but she can’t deny that he’s an ideal guy to marry. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the question of choosing between love and money. She’s already made that decision when she pursued Ryo-rather, make Ryo interested in her. But knowing that even if she marries an ideal guy, she still wouldn’t get what she wanted in the first place.
Hana paced around her living room thinking of a way to make Ryo cancel that pre-nuptial agreement. She isn’t going to give up just like that. She was thinking of her options. She already told Ryo about the agreement thinking he was forced into signing it. Instead, Ryo reassured her that it’s supposed to be like that to protect the company and the clan’s wealth. He even made a sickly sweet statement saying that, “Just sign it. I would definitely take care and provide for you. So you don’t have anything to worry about. And besides, we’re not getting married because of that money.”
‘Like hell!’ Hana thought. Ryo has been trying to get in her pants for the past two years. She’s willing to play the virgin card for as long as possible just to be sure she’ll get him. But since that didn’t work in her favor and her plans are in shambles, she decided to use her trump card. That’s why when Ryo told her that he and Jin would be going out she told him she would like to come. It would definitely be the perfect way to execute her plan.

Tatsuya received a call from Ryo that they would be going out that Saturday night and to meet them at the usual place they hang out in. He told Ryo that he would be late since he would be coming from the main house. Much to his aggravation, he came an hour later than the time they agreed on because his mom insisted on having the chauffer drive him to the venue. There’s nothing really wrong about being late because his friends will definitely wait for him. The only problem with coming late would be the scene that he will see. And true enough, he found the two couples in the usual VIP room making out. He sighed and walked out of the room.
Tatsuya found himself on a bar, margarita on hand, trying to tune out the loud music from the dance floor. He was lost in his thoughts that he didn’t notice someone sitting beside him until that person spoke.
“You shouldn’t spend Saturday nights like this alone in a bar,” the person beside him said. Tatsuya was ready to give that person a piece of his mind for throwing such a cheesy pick-up line at him. But when he turned to his side, he realized that the person is quite familiar.
“Yamapi?!” Tatsuya asked tentatively.
“Hi Tatsuya!” Yamapi greeted.
“Pi-chan!” Tatsuya exclaimed before enveloping Yamapi into a bear hug. “When did you get back?”
“Yesterday. I’m planning to surprise you on Monday when you report for work,” he replied looking sheepish.
“That’s okay. I’m already surprised to see that you’ve come back,” he said flashing his beautiful smile.
Yamapi can’t help but blush seeing that Tatsuya is smiling at him. He cleared his throat, “So, why are you drinking alone?”
“I’m not alone ‘alone.’ I came here with my friends but they brought their partners with them and you could say that I am the odd man. I left them in the VIP room when they started making out. Since you’re here, I’ll go introduce you to them,” Tatsuya said.
“So, you’re planning to make out with me when they go back to making out again?” Yamapi teased.
“Hmm… Tempting but no,” Tatsuya retorted. He dragged Yamapi into the VIP room. Luckily, his friends have finished their make out session and are casually engaged in a conversation.

Ryo and Tatsuya used to be together all the time. But when Ryo started going out with Hana, those times lessened considerably. Ryo never heard his bestfriend complained about it so all is good. He would have thought that now he’s got a girlfriend, he can go on double dates with Tatsuya. But a few days after he introduced Hana, Tatsuya broke up with his girlfriends. He stayed single for two years inspite of girls trying to catch his attention and boys courting him. The latter raised his eyebrows but he doesn’t really mind if his bestfriend is gay. He’s friends with Kazuya and Jin after all. Eventhough he’s in a relationship, he and Tatsuya still hangout once in a while.
Tonight is one of those nights that he and Tatsuya hangout. He would have wanted Hana not to join them so that Tatsuya will not feel left out but she insisted on coming. He found himself making out with her as soon as they enter the VIP room. He was surprised that his fiance is quite bold tonight but he was distracted. Tatsuya hasn’t arrived yet. Before he can voice out his concern, Tatsuya entered the room with a guy in tow. He frowned at their linked hands.
“What took you so long?” he asked his bestfriend.
“I arrived ages ago but you guys are making out so I went to the bar…” Tatsuya explained.
“And decided to find yourself a partner so you can makeout with someone?” Jin interrupted.
Ryo smacked him in the head while Tatsuya laughed. “Baka! Of course not! This is Yamashita Tomohisa. He’s the son of one of the directors in my father’s company,” he explained while ushering Yamapi into one of couch and sat beside him.
“These are my friends,” he introduced. “That’s Nishikido Ryo, my bestfriend and his fiance, Sato Hana. My close friends, Kamenashi Kazuya and Akanishi Jin.”
“Nice to meet you. You can call me Yamapi,” he said with a smile.
Hana excused herself to go to the ladies’ room while Akame flirted with each other. It gave Ryo time to watch his bestfriend and Yamapi. The two were seated closely in one of the couch, talking animatedly. Ryo sulked and pouted but they were still engrossed in their own conversation. For the first time, he doesn’t have Tatsuya’s attention.
Ryo’s musings was interrupted when a waiter came in with their drinks. The waiter placed a glass of margarita in front of Tatsuya. The older man cannot tolerate alcohol. He thought of voicing his thoughts but Yamapi beat him into it.
“Tatsuya, I think you’ve had enough liquor. You get drunk easily,” Yamapi reprimanded Tatsuya.
Tatsuya pouted and looked at Yamapi with puppy eyes, “This will be the last one, promise.”
“Fine but after that, I’ll take you home. You’ll get a nasty hangover tomorrow, I’m sure,” Yamapi said. The statement caught Kazuya’s attention.
“Ne Yamapi, how do you know Tatchan so well?” It was Kazuya. He was curious as to how this guy knows his friend so well.
“We’re friends for a long time even before I left the country to study abroad. We kept in touch even then,” Yamapi explained. He looked at Tatsuya with a mischievous grin before saying, “And his dad always asks me to babysit him during company events.” In retaliation, Tatsuya smacked him in the head before the two of them laughed together.
The rest of the night went pretty well. That is if you discount the fact that Ryo is getting grumpier by the minute seeing how close Tatsuya and Yamapi are. They ended their night earlier than they supposed to because Hana has been whining that Ryo take her home. But to Hana’s disappointment, Ryo called their driver and instructed him to take her home. Ryo wants to make sure that Tatsuya would get home safely seeing that his bestfriend is a little bit tipsy. To his disappointment, by the time he has sent Hana on her way, Yamapi and Tatsuya are already being driven home in the latter’s car. So, he hailed a cab to go home taking note to get up early and check on Tatsuya.

The following morning, Ryo found himself in front of Tatsuya’s apartment. When he knocked, it was opened by a disheveled Tatsuya in his pyjamas.
“You look like shit,” Ryo greeted.
Tatsuya grunted. “You’re not the first one to tell that to me today so shut the fuck up and get in! I’m hungry and hungover,” he said as he led Ryo into the apartment.
Yamapi was setting up the table when he and Tatsuya entered the kitchen. “Ohayou, Nishikido-san,” he greeted. As they sit at the table, Ryo observed how Yamapi seemed to be familiar in Tatsuya’s kitchen. He noticed how the other man, fussed about his best friend’s food or when he placed a painkiller just beside Tatsuya’s glass.
“Why’d you come here so early, by the way?” Tatsuya asked as he munch on some toast with strawberry jam.
“I just want to check if you’re still alive,” Ryo said.
Tatsuya responded with a laugh. “I went home with Pi. He would definitely take care of me,” he said before looking at Yamapi and giving him a sweet smile.

For the past few days, Ryo is not in a good mood. Ever since that Yamashita Tomohisa was introduced to them to be exact. Since then, Tatsuya would often turn down his invitations because he already agreed on going out with Yamapi. There was even a time that Yamapi was the one who opened the door when he visited Tatsuya’s apartment. Yamapi was not a bad guy, he’s sure of that. But he just doesn’t like the idea of Tatsuya hanging out with him a lot. If he would try to be honest with himself, he would admit that he was jealous. But since he’s not, he just says he doesn’t trust the guy at all.
Ryo knocked at the door of Tatsuya’s office. He opened the door after he heard a soft “come in.”
“Busy?” he asked tentatively.
Tatsuya looked up upon hearing a familiar voice. “Ryo! What brought you here?” he said as he walked over his bestfriend. They were seated on the couch exchanging stories when Tatsuya’s secretary came in with some snacks. They were too engrossed in their conversation that it surprised them when Yamapi came in.
“Tatsuya, let’s have lunch I brought you a bento,” he said as he enter the room.
“Eh?! It’s lunch already?” Tatsuya said as he looked at his watch. “Would you like to join us for lunch?” he asked Ryo.
“No. I still have something to do. Just come to the party this weekend,” Ryo said almost growling. He doesn’t understand why he’s irritated that Yamapi cooked for Tatsuya. He left the office and drove around town trying to clear his mind.
* * * * * * * * *
That weekend was the engagement party for Nishikido Ryo and Sato Hana. Ryo is excited that he would be marrying his first and last girlfriend. That realization pushed his thoughts away from comprehending his jealousy and irritation towards Yamapi where it concerns Tatsuya. The party went by smoothly with everything happening as they are supposed to. That is until, the emcee called for Tatsuya, the bestman to make a speech. And from there, it went downhill.
Ryo watched dumbfounded as Tatsuya walked out of the banquet hall. So many thoughts are running through his head. The words his bestfriend uttered during his speech still rings in his ear as if the constant replay button were pressed.
‘He’s in love with me?! Weren’t we bestfriends? We’re supposed to be like brothers. Why does the thought of being brothers with Tatsuya hurt me now? Does that mean I might love him? Nope. Not a chance. I’m straight and I have Hana. I’m going to marry her. Wait! Then that means Tatsuya has been hurting all these time? Why didn’t he say anything? And what does he mean he’s going his own way?’
Those thoughts have been swirling in his head and when he came back to his senses, Tatsuya has already left. The emcee also had a band playing to distract the guests. Ryo stood up abruptly making Hana look at him as if he’s gone insane.
“Where are you going?” she asked as she pulled him back to sit down. Ryo, feeling weak on his knees because of the earlier revelation, sank back into his seat again.
“I’m going after Tatchan,” he said looking at his fiance with wide eyes.
“Why? Are you in love with him too?”
“I… I don’t know but he’s hurt. He needs someone to comfort him,” he reasoned.
“Didn’t you realize that you were the reason he’s hurt?”
“I… I…”
“You know what? I’ve had enough of this bullshit!” Hana said.
“What do you mean?” Ryo asked looked at her as if seeing her for the first time. It is indeed the first time that he saw her make an outburst like that. Where is his sweet and innocent Hana?
“I don’t love you. I’m only marrying you because you’re rich. But your witch of a mother wants me to sign a fucking pre-nuptial agreement. I’m not that dumb to get stuck being married to someone who has a faggot of a bestfriend, who apparently has been in love with you all these time, and not get anything in return. That’s why I am not marrying you and I don’t have any fucking plans to be involved with you ever again.”
And with that, she took the mic from the emcee and said, “I’ve broken my engagement with Nishikido Ryo,” before turning to Ryo’s mother, Yuzuki, making a mock bow. After that, she left the hall without even a second look on Ryo.
Ryo was left dumbfounded and confused. He can’t believe that his girlfriend for two years never loved him and it’s actually his bestfriend who was in love with him. He’s torn whether he should go after his bestfriend or his fiance.
A/N: So, what do you think about this fic so far? Not a lot has been commenting so I don't know if anyone is still interested. Should I continue this or start a new one?
