A Cry for Help

Dec 18, 2011 15:08

A few days ago, the news about a storm hitting our city came and that was weird on itself. Not because we don't get hit by typhoons but because if it does, it's as rare as a blue moon and it won't be more than a few hours of rain. But what happened that Friday night of December 16th was beyond what we could ever imagined.

Please... Even a prayer counts a lot )

Thank you for making this post. I don't even know what to say right now. The pictures and news reports of the devastation are absolutely heartbreaking. Looking at the pictures especially the one with the man holding the small child; I am crying now. My prayers and thoughts are with all the families. Sarah and I will be donating once we figure out the best way--it will probably be the Red Cross.

And I know I said this before, but I am so thankful you are okay. Please let me know any other way I can help.

It was a sad sight. Me and my husband went to the evacuation center earlier to help out in distributing food. I pity the children the most since the weather is cold and it's almost Christmas. Since their houses were washed away by the flood it will take a while before they can get back on their own.

Thank you very much for your concern and for donating. It will help a lot of people. *hugs*

I found out about the flash flood this morning while watching BBC news during breakfast.
It was devastating indeed seeing how in a blink of an eye, disaster struck.

My prayer will always be with you guys and I'll see what else I can do. For now, please be safe

We didn't know what was happening in another part of the city since it was just heavy rains in our area. We only find out about the disaster when my husband got lots of phone calls asking for his help.

Thank you for your prayers and take care as well :)

thank you for the post...

this one hit us too close for comfort and to think that our city is almost never hit by storms...

i was in the city yesterday myself, i have to retrieve what was left of my brothers' effects in their dorm...

right now, they are suffering from the trauma...

they live just a little over 2 miles from ground zero... :(

that is true. in the few years that i've lived here, this was the first time i've experienced a typhoon. that's pretty rare since i grew up in luzon where we're used to getting hit by a storm one after another.

thank God that you and your brothers' are safe.

take care and thank you for reading ^^

That's really awful what happened. Natural disasters have been particularly unforgiving this year.
Good thing you're safe and my thoughts and prayers go out to those affected.

IKR?! It's like disaster one after another in different parts of the globe.

Yes, we were lucky that we were spared so we're trying to reach out to as much people as we can.

Thank you for your prayers. May you be blessed more :)
