Bucharest, Sofia

Sometimes, I'm pleasantly wrong about things, like that time that I thought it would be difficult getting from Budapest to Sofia in two nights. I didn't anticipate bumping into all kinds of interesting fellow travellers on the train and in stations who made the whole thing very pleasant. INSIPID LACK OF DETAIL

Also, you know that thing about not having anything to do in Bucharest? I wasn't particularly correct about that either.

Now I am in a village outside of Sofia (route). I have been entrusted by a Bulgarian friend and former student of Mom's into the hands of his best friend, who lives outside of Sofia. But he has put me up for the night in his friend's house. So now I am at a friend of a friend of a friend's. I gather that this is normal for Bulgarian hospitality.

I need to go to dinner now instead of hiding up here using my hostess' (an English teacher, conveniently) computer like a recluse.
