in front of the camera

Today, I filmed a "Coaching Video" for Management Training in The Walt Disney Company. This was one of those "watch the manager coach her employee the wrong way, then watch how wonderful it is when she coaches the RIGHT way" videos. It was fun. I got to be the victim employee who first gets chewed out by the manager, but then gets to get a positive and creative coaching session. It was mostly improv, which was cool, since they didn't give us the scripts till we got there. I did the shoot, then got some very good comments from everyone in charge.

It's apparent that screen-acting suits me very well, since (I'll admit) most of my emotional acting is shown through my eyes. Y'know... the kind of under-the-radar stuff that you can't see on stage. The woman in charge of the project (not the director) told me that she wanted to cry when I was getting chewed out. Ha ha. Anywho... the director said that my acting seemed "more natural than most actors".... which I'm going to INTERPRET as a good thing.... though I'm really not sure what he was trying to say.

It was fun, and it was the first time I've acted in front of a camera in almost 2 years. Definitely the most I've ever been paid to do.

I don't really know if I was trying to make a point. I was just happy to be on camera again.
Salaam in the Middle.
