Well, that was a long appointment just to talk about everything and set up the shots. Apparently, there is no minimally-invasive laser surgery for fusions. The pain specialist said that the place in Tampa is a joke. This is in the same office as my present doctor. I see him on Friday morning. My first injection is on the 18th. I have a script to take a Xanax an hour before the appointment. I have to have somebody drive me, stay there and then take me home. I have a second injection on July 9th. This procedure is done under an x-ray, to see if he is injecting the correct area.

Something I didn’t want to hear is that there is a good chance, after having a lumbar fusion for people to have problems with the bones or equipment resting on the sacroiliac, causing pain.

I would be just fine if I could just lie down several times a day. I am not sure if I want another 8” incision that doesn’t do a damned thing. I may have to look into long-term disability. I can’t sit here in pain every day, day in and day out. I’m hoping the shots work.
