Wednesday, New Year's Eve

They moved a nice woman next to me, except for the fact that they have a cell phone, hospital phone, family, fucking noise, noise, noise and more noise.

How else would I want to spend New Year's eve anyway?

Here's the scoop: I have ischemic colitis. He just wants to test further to find out where the problem is. They did an MRI which was different than normal. They test how the blood flows from heart to colon. Apparently, this is caused by poor circulation in the colon.

After I found this out I called Mike. I explained it to him and then mentioned that Lauren had read from webmd.com that it could cause gangrene. Mike said, "Paula, that's how Karen died." Oh, goody.

I was talking to the tech after the MRI. He said he rarely has this test prescribed. He came from a big 'heart' hospital I Houston. They did a lot of these, several for the jocks because they would seem fine but ended up dying because this was not caught in time.

I just got a percocet so my eyes are doing something funny.

My potassium is low so I have to drink this horrible drink. I have been here so long that I am training the old nurses that come back, after days off, that O.J. works best (and doesn't kill you).

Oh, I have to get my IV moved again. I am running out of places to poke.
