Kitty

Well. In a couple of days I am getting rid of Kitty. :-( That's right, the 1998 Forrest Green Honda Accord. My Mom first bought it in 1998 when I was still in the seventh grade. In 2004 my Mom gave the car to me, but even before 2004 I borrowed it a lot to drive to high school. Kitty has been through a lot with me, and it is sad to see her go. :-( Kitty was there when I had the best Halloween ever with Seth, JD and Gwyn on Emily's Bridge. We got stuck in a ditch, and a police cop pulled me over when I was already on the side of the road...good times. Kitty was always there with me all those times I drove around with Seth, laughing at him as he barked at deer and got his head stuck in between the seat and the window. Kitty was there all those times I drove her with friends to the Floating Bridge in Brookfield, VT on hot summer days to swim. Kitty was there when I drove 21 hours straight back home to Vermont from Clevleand, TN and got to get a big hug from Jamie in the Hannaford's parking lot at 1:30 in the morning. Kitty was there when I dropped out of USM and drove her over to Seth's house and then he and I drove together to the Gauthiers to celebrate me being home and not at school. Kitty was there when Elsbeth and I were just friends, and I was driving her home after a get together at the Gauthiers and I asked her to tell me a story and she said, "Paul, I'm falling in love with you." Kitty was there when Seth and I took a road trip to Rochester to visit my grandpa, the nicest grandpa in the world. Kitty was there all the times my Mom drove me around in her in middle school when I had a bad day. It would be at night and I would listen to the Dave Matthews Band while I gazed outside the moon roof at the stars and moon. Kitty was there all the times I couldn't find my way to Tom's house. And finally, Kitty was there when Elsbeth and I moved to Maine. She has Maine license plates now, but she is coming to the end of her journey, at least with me. I can't afford to keep her going anymore. :-( But saying goodbye to Kitty is pretty heartbreaking. She has been through a lot with me. :-(
