What does your answering machine say?
I have, for a while, been thinking of putting a message on the phone to the Boy Scouts who call Duncan here; as you would expect, they're wrong about half the time. I get the message, need to call Duncan back to pass it along, etc.
Now, somewhere there is an ad for a used refrigerator with my number, and I've gotten a couple of calls.
And, of course, should I leave something that long, I ought to tell people how to escape and just get to the message-leaving part.
So, now I have. It goes something like this:
"Hi, you've reached Pat and Duncan. Should you NOT be a Boy Scout or looking for a refrigerator, press the # sign now so you can get right to leaving the message. If you are....." and I go on to leave the instructions.
maybe it will help both Scouts and Me! That's the plan, anyway!
