Location on Google maps Wikipedia reference It is new day in Hong Kong and I'm so excited about idea to republish gannet images in new 1150px format that I decided to start doing it right away ! I'm kicking off new theme week with this image which is probably one of my most famous. It won second prize in underwater category in Veolia Wildlife Photographer of the Year in 2009, gaining exposure to several million people visiting exhibition around the world and appeared in numerous publications and campaigns after that, including famous
Mozilla Seabird phone conceptual video.
Obviously seeing bird which belongs to the air element in the water surrounded by sun rays and scales and bubbles - key to the success of this picture. It strikes powerfully with it's surrealistic appearance, and many people told me that they could not understand initially that this picture was taken underwater.
Well, gannets became my favorite subject of Sardine Run, and I have big plans for them for the new season as well. I believe perfect picture is yet to be made !
Today
really cool story about camera which spent underwater more than a year appeared on G+. Now it is interesting to see will it be possible for G+ to reach someone who knows original owner. This is exactly case when it's really interesting to look at the ripples diagram for the post -
http://goo.gl/gLvyz. Now it's already more than 500 reshares - and I think it's just beginning. Let's see how many reshares it will take for camera to find it's owner ! ^_^
