Damn I'm pissed that this original post just froze up on my LJ and I will kill LJ for making me do this again. Since I've found myself with no one to discuss this with or to vent to, I've found my nice little LJ would be a perfect place to do it. If it causes people to hate me, so be it. I don't need you anyway. As I've stated in previous posts, I'

VERY GOOD POINT!
Now.. did you know about the white slaves?
There were several voyages to this land that had failed due to disease, starvation, and what is amazing is that the natives had towns and villages which were organized and very advanced.
I took a history class at my college and we were taught the real history of how the colonists came, and died, and more were sent and they kept dying. They would not have survived let alone thrived if it weren't for the natives.
But... of course... MONEY has to be made so then the slaughter and removal of natives were inevitable.
I dont know if you heard about Samuel Sewall, he wrote this pamlet explaining why they shouldn't get involved with slavery. That people who are brought here, will never be able to adapt, since they were brought in bondage. which is true if you really think about it. http://medicolegal.tripod.com/sewall1700.htm

As for white slaves, I read on that as well. Completely mind boggling I must say. I'd like to find more on the subject as well.
I've come across people that have said "If you compared Europeans arms with those of the Indians..it's obvious who was going to dominate"
At the time of arrival, the technology and culture of the Indians on the east coast was definitely different and rivals to those of the English. One can only really speculate what the outcome would have been like if the impact of the European plague hadn't been so devestating on the Indians. If colonists had not been able to settle on the lands that were cleared by Indian farmers who had vanished as a result of the plague..colonization would have came about more slowly. If the culture hadn't been devastated by physical and psychological assult it had suffered...who knows. Maybe colonization might not have proceeded at all. If you think about it, colonists were never able to settle in the eastern parts of the world. China, India, Japan, or even much of Africa because too many people lived there. They may have dominated them in arms, but never settled in that hemisphere. If the plagues would have happened there, hell the whole world probably be European.
I just went with that and ran. I apologize. I can't say I've read anything on Samuel Sewall before you provided me with this link. But he is definitely right on with the slavery issue. I think I'm going to look for more on this guy as well. Thanks :)
