Most of the 50 or so
McHENRY COUNTY DEMOCRATS who formed the contingent at the Fiesta Days Parade in McHenry on Sunday are pictured below. Among them are: The Proprietor of HERATIC, REBEL, A THING TO FLOUT is holding the “People Matter” sign, left (naturally) front. Immediately behind him in the red Melissa Bean shirt is John Gypalo, slated by County Board 1 Precinct Representatives just the day before for the open slot for the Board. Rich Jackson, candidate in County Board District 2 is behind John. Standing out front with the sleaves of her Malle T-shirt rolled up is the tireless McHenry County Dem Party Secretary Carolyn Quinn. Looking on in admiration in the dark blue shirt is Board District 4 candidate Mary Margaret Malle, whose shirts are much in evidence. Further down the line in front, behind the McHenry Democratic Party banner in the dark blue shirt is Board District 3 candidate John Gravenor. Last, but not least, down at the end of the line in one of the nifty blue McHenry Democrat shirts is party Chair Pat Quimet. Unaccountably missing from the picture is County Board District 3 candidate John Darger, whose bicycle emblazoned shirts can be seen on several marchers. Daryl Franks, candidate for District 6 also marched. Congresswoman Melissa Bean and State Representative Jack Franks and their contingents were up at the front of the parade with the elected dignitaries. With candidates sprinting along the sidelines shaking hands, our team was enthusiastically greeted by the large McHenry crowd. (Photo by Lynda DiGregor)
MARCH IN ALGONQUIN SATRDAY
The McHenry Dem participation in the Founder’s Day Parade in Algonquin on Saturday, July 22 has been designated as being one of the
DEMOCRATIC REUNION events sponsored by Howard Dean and the Democratic National Committee. Canvas blitzes, rallies, fundraisers and other events across the country are being organized that day, exactly 100 days before the November election. Since the parade will be posted as a local event on the DNC free floating Democrats, including many energized via the internet and who are not yet connected to the local party, will turn out.
Parade line up time is 10:30 (the float will be in position much earlier.) Ask parade marshals for Entry 93 in the staging areas along Scott and Eastgate Streets.
