he's going the distance, he's going for speed

Apparently thinking about the future is exhausting. Like, very exhausting. Sigh.

My cousin suggested a Hawaiian Christmas this year. In theory, it is the most brilliant idea. But in execution, not so much when flights are $1400 per person from St. Louis. Umm...that's how much it costs us each to go back home to Australia (during off-peak time, mind you). So, for now, it's looking like we'll be in New York, New York for Christmas (which isn't half bad, really - just much, much colder!)

I have been on a CAKE binge lately (the band, not the yummy goodness you put in your mouth). I cannot really call myself a CAKE fan, but I seem to be hearing their songs a lot lately on the radio which results in YouTube-ing or VEVO-ing them a lot after hours. I think they would be an awesome band to see live.

Speaking of music, I've been stalking web sites lately for upcoming shows. Oh how I wish we lived in either KC or STL. Concert going would be so much easier, cheaper and fun. But no, we're stuck with the bloody Blue Note's (mostly) B-grade bands. Or at least bands I have no interest in seeing. But props to the Blue Note. Love that joint, despite it's (sometimes) shoddy sound system. Meh.

Can I just say how awesome the Queen's Jubilee sounded this past weekend? I didn't catch a lot of it (since I'm not in London or ventured near a television this past week and a half). But the bits and pieces I saw on Twitter looked magnificent! Them Brits sure know how to put on a party for their supreme leader, don't they? When you're the richest woman in the world and wear a crown to bed, you can afford to throw yourself one banging party. Aaaahhh, Lizzie you are a legend. 60 years is a long time, you deserve it. For the record though, in the next referendum Australia conducts asking whether we should be a republic, I am going to be voting FOR A REPUBLIC. No offense. But for now, I will proudly flash my Aussie passport that's signed by Her Majesty the Queen of England. Represent!

On that note, I'm outtie. All this work ain't gonna sort itself out, unfortunately for me.

P.S. I'm not saying John Mayer's not a jerk, but the man has a point. Grow a pair, Taylor.
