We stopped by the vet's office to see the kitten today. She seems to be doing pretty good. The vet showed us an XRay. The kitten has a pin in her leg, much like the one in my leg from when I broke it in 2005. I picked her up and the cuddled into my neck tightly. She has those oh-so-baby blue eyes and a very sad look on her face. The vets (there are two at the office) are monitoring her leg for progress. There is still a chance she may end up losing it, despite all the work that was done. We'll find out in another 3 or 4 days.
Once we get her home, we'll have to decide what do do with her. One thing I want to do, weather permitting, is to put the cage outside for a bit so the mother knows she's OK. Chances are the smell will be different enough she won't be recognized anymore.
Anyway, here's a picture we took of her before the surgery. If you look closely you can see the broken leg behind her and to the rear.
