Title: girl cried wolf
Fandom: LOST
Characters: Samuel/Claire
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 108
Summary: It's impossible to tell them apart. (prompt - devise, written for lost_in_108 )

Claire slips naturally into the role he can't escape, tying herself to the land until it is impossible to tell them apart.

He watches her draw strange shapes in the dirt, and he touches her to distract, to forget. She chitters like a bird beneath him, whispering secrets she shouldn't know, dragging her fingers across his sweaty temples.

The morning grants her innocence, hair matted and hands shaking (human). She feigns the bravery that melts away with the dew. "Why did you make me like this?"

Samuel laughs harshly, buries them both in her self-deception.

(he is the order to her chaos)

"I like you better this way."
