So, for the record, Boris came home. He is walking funny... funnier... I don't know. I think he broke his tail. He hobbles around awkwardly to make sure it doesn't sway. Still, he eats his food, purrs when you pet him, and doesn't seem to be in any pain. So I'm not going to worry about it. He's a broken cat, but he still functions (if that makes any sense).

Received Rejection Letter #2 the other day--sadly, I have not been invited to attend Cornell University. In a way, at least, this makes things easier. Tufts is looking more and more likely, especially as Edinburgh gave me a scare (I had to 'reapply' online, which I didn't know. Thankfully, it is only a formality). If such is the case, I really should take a trip up there to scout out the campus and see if it is something that I could enjoy doing. Or, on second thought, it doesn't make much difference. If it is the only school which accepts me, I would rather be working towards a PhD in a place I dislike rather than stick around and keep free-floating through life in Waterford.

In another surprising twist, I am starting to DM another D&D campaign this weekend. Keean has basically been killing the entire party every session for four out of six weeks now, and after the most recent 'one-hit-and-now-you're-all-dead' moment, he threw up his hands and suggested that we try to change things up. I was really hesitant, my last campaign going so well and all, but now that I have started to prepare, I am looking forward to it.

Sigh... Today is one of those annoying days of work. I wasn't called in yesterday and today is only a half-day (12:30-4:00). It's $35 for less than 4 hours of work, but it's still a small payday. On a good note, I was able to pay my credit card bill for this month (cat surgery made that one scary) and my student loan payment (plus a bit extra), so I have no other financial costs for the rest of March. I would like to 'chip in' a bit for rent, and am seriously considering pulling stuff out of my savings to do so (because, really, I should). I should also mention that I worked a bunch of days in Waterford Schools recently, and they pay really well... so when, at the end of the month, that paycheck comes in, I should be better off.

For now, I'm going to continue my lazy morning. Watch cartoons, make coffee, read a book.... it is tough to "get things done" knowing that I need to be someplace in a few hours, but since I wake up at 8:30 AM every morning one way or the other, I can't help but have this free-floating time. Ooh. I should work on that trombone CD for my students. Yeah. That would be productive.

Anyway, hasta luego.
