I just tripled my bike's value today. I paid $100 for it. Just put $200 into it for some necessities... bearings, new crank/sprocket, brake levers. It rides like a dream now. So sleek.
It really doesn't look like anything special, but that's what I like about it. I like the utilitarian approach. I've always had the fantasy of having a shitty looking car/motorcycle that performs like a superstar. I'm not saying this is the ultimate fruition of that image, but it's definitely tweaked to how I like it and performs like a champion without looking like I'm trying to turn any heads.
I've been a little more mindful of... ahem... safety, since the wreck. You can see it's got plenty of reflective properties, and the
Ag (Alchemy Goods) bag is reflective as well. (Yes it has my name on it, but it's just a little patch. No one would know but you.) I've been taking corners more slowly and being extra watchful in traffic.
A friend of a friend was just hit from behind, on a bike, south of Seattle and is in a coma. He's really messed up. It's scary. He was on a major highway, but that really doesn't mean much. Spooky. It was his first day riding home from work on his bike. Uggh.
I'm going to look at dogs this weekend. Wish me luck.
