I learned a new name for the Valentine's day holiday: Single's Awareness Day. I'm not really sure what the real point of this holiday is. I never really understood it before yesterday but being here at Liberty has made the whole holiday even more confusing. Why do we need to have a whole day about love and relationships. Shouldn't we care about these things everyday?
Since I don't have a "valentine" I decided to stay in and have a quiet evening. I brought home some extra pastries I had made at work and I made sure to make a traditional meal for the night. Ali is actually single as well for Valentine's this year and she spent the night with me. I was so happy, I told Ali we could be each others Valentine's. She seemed to think that was a good idea. Ali has been a bit more like herself recently and that makes things so much nicer in the apartment,
Ali and I ended the evening watching one of those sappy romantic comedies on TV I don't even know what it was called or who was in it but it wasn't so bad. Abby and Alice joined us on the couch for the movie, but mostly I think they wanted us to share our pastries with them.
I was so nice to wake up in the morning cuddled up with Ali, Abby and Alice on the couch. I think that was the best part of Single's awareness day.
