Having just come from an edgy art gallery in the West End and driving down the interstate, my dangling and broken side-view mirror tucked safely inside the gaping window, the frigid cold breeze in my hair, and "Every little thing she does is magic" on the radio, I couldn't help thinking, "What a beautiful world."

I've been very conflicted for a while about wearing the black-and-white (clergy shirt and collar). Johnny Cash has given me something else to consider. Look up "Man in Black" on YouTube to find a short video of Mr. Cash singing this signature song. I dare you not to be moved.

When I have tried to put up bookshelves in the past, it has been a disaster. I'm not very handy in that way and each attempt usually ends after several tearful trips to the local home supply megastore, angry recriminations, and at least two incidents of my throwing tools across the room in a weak attempt to break something. Started a band at the church (yes, a church-y band) with some of the youth. Had our first gig on Sunday--led worship at the church's new family/youth/ecclectic/ancient-future/emergent service called The Banquet.
We rocked.
