Excited
I now know about eight songs on bass and will begin learning theory soon. At the next party me and Matt throw at the house we will be playing those songs. So I got like a thirty minute set I am practicing of some songs by Stone Temple Pilots, Jane's Addiction, Rage Against the Machine, and maybe a Red Hot Chili Peppers one too. I'm hoping when I get back over summer I can finally be part of a band with my friends, seeing how they are awesome musicians. OBz has been playing for like ten years, Dan about seven or eight on drums, Taco for like ..... god.... must be twenty. I don't think I will contribute much at first but playing in a band is all I want to do in my spare time now. I still like paintball and all, but I see music as a far more lasting experience, mainly because my father, who is teaching me everything about music, is 54 and still plays shows and jams every weekend. He's got a damn good job, family, and plays music all the time. How much better can it get? He says based on the pace of my learning over summer I will be primed to start learning advanced techniques like slap bass. It should be interesting to see how a band develops as everyone I know is starting to become extremely musically oriented. For fucks sake, I've collected over 6,000 mp3s and I'm bored of it. I need more music!!! And it has to be good too. No junk for me. My taste is getting extremely picky and critical.
Aside from all that, I need a damn girlfriend again. I miss having one deeply, and it's for the love. There is nothing more precious than seeing someone smile just because you are you and hugging you for that. Damn I wish things worked out with me and Christine.... finding another girl at UMass is looking to be impossible as I have searched a lot and am coming up with blanks or finding someone that I like that does not like me...perhaps entering the music realm a bit more will open some more opportunities.
