What the hell?

In the midst of my researching for a paper about the impacts of the largely meat-eating society of the U.S. on land resources in comparison with the impacts of a vegetarian diet, I came across one of those eye-catching aol welcome page headlines: "'Too Graphic' to See on T.V.: Networks Reject Joaquin's Spot for PETA"

Too graphic? I was expecting the worse when i clicked on this but too graphic? Puh. lease.

I saw that in veg_feminism. I really don't see the big deal. I think the stations should just admit that they don't want to run PETA ads instead of hiding behind the 'graphic' bit. Like that super-bowl ad...that was hardly worse than your average Budweiser or Axe commercial.

Like I said on the comm post...most non veg*ns would find it funny, since in their minds in was on the same plane as showing a carrot with that intense music. It looked more like 'food' than a slaughtered animal by most people's standards.

Right, it certainly seems obvious that they're trying to hide behind a "too graphic" excuse. There's no way that's even as "graphic" as a lot of stuff on t.v. And there are commercials supporting meat consumption that have talking food and cartoon turkeys and stuff which seems to make the source of the meat even more blatent..
