It’s been 6 weeks, and still, we are feeling critters crawl on us in the night. This morning I woke up with a smattering of bright red bites on my cheek. I look like an adolescent with acne. Tomorrow I have to teach with my face looking a fright ( Read more... )

ick! that sounds so awful. i'm sorry you have to go through all of this. i can relate to what you are going through on some levels. i hope things get better for you guys as quickly as possible!

i would say the biggest thing was we had two days to find an apartment which was really stressful especially since neither of us had been to this area and didn't know our way around. also, we were debating between living in norfolk or virginia beach, but we had heard really bad things about the norfolk area so we didn't know what was a good area or a bad area ( ... )

sorry to hear it. i know having your wallet stolen sucks. honestly, why don't you two move to a different apartment complex? there's a point where your comfort and sanity are worth more than breaking a lease, and it sounds like that point was a while ago.

i would have to agree. it just seems like being miserable isn't worth it at all.

We absolutely can't even move, at this point! Unless we want to abandon all our possessions (because if even one bug survives, say, in a random shoe or any household item), then we have the problem all over again. So we have to stay here and resolve it.
I don't consider myself a materialist...but everything to be abandoned? I can't do it. We can't. Yet.
