I started watching this show called Alcatraz, which, in echo of Firefly, was cancelled after only one season. It's now available for streaming and on DVD, and it stars the awesome Sarah Jones as Rebecca Madsen.
In other less-wordy words, this:
Even more importantly, Rebecca has shown zero interest in men, and no one has mentioned it at all, except for the comic shop employee who almost swallows his own tongue trying to ask her out (she bemusedly turns him down). She runs all over San Fransisco, drives a muscle car, likes nerds, and effortlessly beats up the bad guys when they threaten her partner. She's awesome to the nth degree and if she had time to spare in between rounding up all the '63s and eating dim sum, she would totally be asking for some P&P love.
Here's the link to the Amazon page - I don't have Netflix so I don't know if it's available there, but if you have Amazon Prime, the whole series is available for streaming. Aside from my crush on the main character, I think it's a really good show. I can't for the life of me understand why it was cancelled.
