"Ella"isms

Ella has been going through a real trying time lately.  Part of it is her age, part of it is my reduced ability to deal with the current chaos of our life.  Lately, when I have to discipline her, after giving a warning along the lines of "you can do that and go to the naughty spot or do this and have fun", she's been making poor choices.

We battle all day long.  Three-year old daughters and their mothers.  Maybe I'll be lucky and we'll work out her teenage angst now and not have it to deal with later?  Can't be that lucky.

Anyway on to the something cute...  she turns the words back on me.  The past few days I get:

"Mom.  I made a biscsiqwin."  (That was really hard to spell.)  "And you need to go to the naughty spot."  (Or any other of the crazy number of things that she's been trying to argue with me about.)

The way she is saying "decision" is absolutely cute.  I think she's stumbling over the word because I haven't slowed down to teach it to her yet.  Yesterday she could pronounce "vasectomy" perfectly.  Which probably means my mother will learn what we've been up to.  I don't know why but I'm still surprised by how easily she picks up these complex words as well as her ability to pick up on the truly awful slip-ups we have and then use them in the "appropriate" context later.  I have to admit and we are NOT proud of this but the most recent turn was so shocking that we had a very difficult time controlling our amusement.  I won't tell you what happened because it tells to succinctly what poor parents we really are and is embarassing.

bad parenting, ella
