My how two weeks fly by. Seriously the last two weeks have disappeared in the blink of an eye. I am two weeks closer to Disney but definitly not feeling the confidence this week.
Good news is I completed a 14 miler on Saturday and it was faster than my 12 miler.
Lets Compare
12 miler- 11/2/2008
2r/2.5w interval
17:10 average pace
161 average HR
182 max HR
13:35- Fastest Run Interval
21:43- Slowest Walk Interval (At the Very End)
14 miler- 11/15/2008
2r/2.5w interval
16:41 average pace
155 average HR
179 max HR
13:22- Fastest Run Interval
20:51- Slowest Walk Interval
Overall having compared both sets of data, I do believe that it is my walking intervals that are getting faster. That is a plus. My walking overall has been really slow.
Bad News. I am feeling really down and out about my "running". Yes I know I am slow. I am averaging around 16-17 minute miles where others are hitting 10 minute miles (or faster). I know this marathon is going to take me a really long time to finish. I am just feeling bummed. And yes I know that some people walk fast than I "run".
I had a friend recently tell me that my pace wasn't really running. I know they meant no harm by it and that they honestly want the best for me, it just stung at the moment that I heard that. I am sure the comment didn't come out how they meant it but it has sat with me recently.
So I am running "faster" short runs. I do know I have lost some quality training recently and I am trying to make up for lost time. But at this point lets just hope for a finish and not a DNF.
Here is the stats from today's run.
3r/2w interval
14:34 average pace
162 average HR
182 max HR
12:08- Fastest Run Interval
19:04- Slowest Walk Interval (The next closest being 18:48 and 18:34)
