Hello!
Thank you so much for writing for me! I'm really excited to read what you write ;)
I've included some thoughts below on my fandoms, but please go with what captures your attention and interest if it's not listed.
General likes: I tend to like conflict within a story and resolution. It’s ok if it gets a little (or a lot) dark in the fic, as long as it doesn’t go into my general dislikes. Although, if your heart wants to write fluff, that's totally fine as well. I enjoy reading porn (and feel free to go as kinky as you like without going into my general dislikes below) as long as there's at least a little bit of plot.
Ultimately, I would prefer that the story ultimately end happily for the main characters. I also like tropes, trope inversions and trope subversions and am always a sucker for UST and pining, so feel free to go wild.
General dislikes: I'm not a fan of major character death, noncon, dubcon, incest, painplay, torture, humiliation kink, a/b/o, dom/sub, mpreg, knotting or other things along those lines.
I'm not active on LJ anymore, although you're welcome to poke around here. I'm slightly active on
tumblr and you can also check out
my pinboard if you'd like to see what kind of things I'm into.
Sabrina
Sabrina Fairchild/Linus Larrabee
This is one of my absolute favorite movies. I love how it's about two people who never even thought of each other as a romantic interest--have always felt miles apart from each other--and yet are perfect for each other. I love how open Sabrina is--she wears her heart on her sleeve and I love how Linus is so used to ignoring his feelings that he doesn't even recognize that he's in love until David confronts him with it.
I would love to see more of them after the events of the movie. What do they do in Paris? How do they handle Sabrina's entry into New York high society? Do they have kids? I'm also really interested in seeing a look at the two of them dealing with a problem behind closed doors--how do they handle someone snubbing Sabrina in polite society or problems that arise with Maude and Oliver?
Caper
Nominated Pairings: Any
I absolutely love this (too short) webseries. If you’re just perusing this part of the letter in search of my other fandoms, you should definitely check it out! It’s about an hour long and can be found
here.
The show pretty much took everything I like (teams, team-building, loving send-ups of Marvel and DC superheroes, heroes having to live the every-day life, multi-dimensional female characters, ALL OF IT) and made it work so well. I would love to see what happens after the show ends. So they’ve theoretically got enough to make ends meet, but what happens when they hit a snag next time? What crazy plan does the team come up with to save the day (their day)?
Maybe the team goes for a visit to Luke’s dad or back to Dagr’s home dimension and hijinks (so many hijinks ensue). You just know that like every single one of Dagr’s siblings is in love with Alexia when they go to visit Dagr’s home world. Alexia is totally loving the ego-boost and encouraging Dagr's siblings to engage in fights to the death which Penny has to keep stopping. Luke’s earnestness and loyalty gets him in trouble when he gets drunk with a bunch of warriors and promises to be their blood brother. Penny spends the whole time desperately trying to put out fires that her team started that could have been avoided completely if they had just freaking listened to her.
You could also focus on the next big bad guy or gal to come to town. Is Doc English up to his old tricks? Or maybe there's a new big bad guy/gal. How does the team deal with Veloci-Ryanno-Girl, the part velociraptor, part tyrannosaurus-rex, all bank-robber girl or [insert your own favorite made-up evil person]?
If you’d like to do a ship oriented fic, I’m pretty much for any and all ships. I’d love to see more of Penny and Dagr-how do they co-superhero now that they’re dating? Does he bring her home to meet his disapproving scar-tissue covered father (who Penny tries so hard to be nice for but ends up flying off the handle at and he consequently thinks Penny is fantastic)?
Or if you’re into a ship that’s non-canon, how does that duo get together after the events of the show? Does Alexia seduce Penny by trying to be nice but it inadvertently comes out as really tough love advice? Does Luke deliver a really earnest speech to Dagr that uses way too many words that are multi-syllabic? Maybe Luke develops a crush on their grizzled mentor, Psycho (aka Mike Monroe), and keeps showing up for “evil guy” lessons (which he fails at) until Psycho figures it out. Do Captain Southpaw and Psycho have some history that keeps repeating itself? So many possibilities!
The Fall (2006)
Alexandria/Roy Walker
This is one of those films that I feel hook, line and sinker for. I love the stories going on in the film-both the story that Roy tells to Alexandria as well as Roy and Alexandria’s story. I love that they forge a connection with each other despite (or maybe because of) their differences. And each of them have such powerful imaginations-it’s such an amazing to watch.
I like make-believe stories that people tell that become true-do the Bandit and his crew somewhere later interact with Roy and Alexandria? Maybe they meet later in life when Roy and Alexandria are traveling the world. Or maybe Roy and Alexandria get pulled into the Bandit’s and his group’s story when something arises that they need assistance for?
If you’re into shipping, I’d love to see Roy and Alexandria getting together as adults. There was something that connected them despite their ages and linguistic barriers-maybe they meet and reconnect, with Alexandria now an international explorer or eccentric geneticist or Hollywood star (or however you see Alexandria being as an adult).
While I would prefer no underage sex, you're welcome to explore Alexandria having known that she was attracted to Roy from a young age. Maybe she sets out in search for him as an adult having always been in love with him. Or she finds him after holding a candle for him for so many years, only to find that he's become bitter and unhappy (which they remedy by getting together!).
If you’re more into gen, I’d love to see how Alexandria’s life was shaped by this brief experience as she gets older. Does she become a biologist like Darwin? Does she become an aviator in pursuit of exciting new places? Does she decide to go into films? How did (or do) her interactions with Roy empower her to see the excitement in the world? What about Roy-how does he continue to heal and grow after he leaves the hospital? If they end up meeting as adults, how do they rebuild the emotional connection and friendship that they had so many years ago?
True Grit
LaBoeuf/Mattie Ross
I really love this movie--I love Mattie's practical, determined nature and how she clashes with the vain, but still talented, LaBoeuf. I seriously love Mattie and how she can't be anyone but herself, even when society is telling her to be someone different. And despite the initial clashing, Mattie and LaBoeuf slowly come to win each other's respect, each saving the other's life.
I would love to see the two of them finding each other again after the events of the film--maybe they keep up a correspondence that ultimately goes from friendly to something more. Maybe there's another adventure that they find themselves on. Or maybe you stay true to the events of the film and they re-meet when they're both much older, after the death of Rooster.
The Proposal
Andrew Paxton/Margaret Tate
I am totally a sucker for opposites attract (which these two most definitely are) which this film really does well. I also love that Margaret is an ice queen but that the moral of the story isn't that Andrew gets her to defrost (although she does defrost a little), but more that he understands that she is closed off and reserved and comes to love her for who she truly is, especially as she starts to let Andrew in. I also love the reverse power dynamics in this--(female older boss is AWESOME) but also that Margaret is the one normally in charge but she spends most of the film off of her element, trying to find her footing, and that Andrew is the one to make sure that when she falls, it's just enough that she's capable of getting up.
I would love to see the two of them down the road--how do they navigate really being together? What are some of their arguments (and reconcilliations) about? Maybe they have kids (or maybe they don't). How do they come to deal with Andrew's family after the disaster that was their first engagement?
Summers at Castle Auburn
This is one of my favorite books--I first read this when I was 14 or so and completely fell in love with Corie, Kent, Elisandra and Roderick. I would love to see more of Corie and Kent after the events of the book: how they deal with court society and the thorny issues left by Kent's father. I would love to get a look at how Elisandra and Roderick fell in love or what their lives were like on Jaxon's estate.
If you wanted to focus on one of the characters and just do a gen piece, I'd love to see Kent's perspective and how he comes to deal with his growing feelings for Corie or his alliance with Elisandra to keep Bryan in check. I'd also love to see Roderick's perspective: falling in love with Elisandra, living together with her on Jaxon's estate. I'd also love to see more about Elisandra--we know so little of what she's really thinking or how she's coping for most of the book. How did she keep herself together and moving forward?
