oh hai

so i was in the process of writing a long post about my trip to mazatlan.  but..... ughhhhhhhhhh.  lemme sum it up: it was fun.  it was hot and humid.  there werent very many americans, which was cool.  i spent a lot of time sitting at the beach and reading (!!!).  i drank a lot of mexican beer.  a lot.  i went on a "jungle tour" which was just a really long boat ride.  i saw a sea turtle on the beach at night.  i went snorkeling and kayaking.  i ate lots of good food.  i spent a lot of pesos, but not a lot of american money, which was super awesome.  the end.

oh, i got stuck in the lax mess on the way home.  that sucked.  see also: facebook posts.

then on monday i started my new jobbie.  read more about the place i work for here.  school starts august 27, so for the past two weeks ive been training and preparing for the upcoming year.  while i should relish this time where i have not a lot to do and plan a lot, its really hard to be motivated about that.  once again im reminded that desk work just isnt for me.  i feel sick after sitting for hours on end infront of the computer, doing random stuff.  talking on the phone.  cant wait to get going.

meetings, meetings, meetings.  interviewing tutors for the after school program.  getting used to my space in the office, agency, etc.  cool note: my agency is all about AIM.  how cool is it to message your boss to ask a question?  pretty awesome.  consequently im online all the time.  feel free to say hi.   they're on aim for two main reasons.  one: most everyone in the agency is about 25 yrs old.  the big wigs arent, but the other ed advisors are.  one of my peers is just outta school.  two: the agency is spread out over two offices a few blocks apart, and instead of calling each other every second (though they do that anyway), this is fun times.  we also have two staff upstairs in my building, and climbing stairs is pesky at best.

another super awesome point: hella people went to berkeley.  neat.

vacation, work
