You'll be ok, whatever happens! I got into a really good uni through clearing, and what they don't tell you is actually there's always a way in! So deep breaths.
I know it sucks though, and I absolutely promise you, this is as hard as it gets. Uni is a total bloody breeze compared with a-levels.

Also yeah, I totally agree that uni (first year, at least, don't know about the rest) seems easier to me than A Levels. Which is weird...but it was always so much effort to get a good grade in A Level. At uni not so much.

Thankyou for this, and sorry for the super delayed response - I think I was too busy fretting to form a coherent reply when I read this on the day and haven't really been on LJ since. I did get in to St Andrews(!), so really happy about that but this was so reassuring to read when I didn't know if I had or not, and I have so many friends and know so many people who didn't get the grades they wanted or expected but ended up being offered a place through clearing (sometimes even at their original firm choice uni!) anyway.

That's definitely comforting! A levels were a bloody nightmare, but everyone says first year's pretty easy, especially in Scotland...just need to make sure I don't become TOO complacent...

I know exactly how you feel, with worrying you're going to let down others. I felt the same about my A Level results, and my family were the same: dismissive of my doubts and treating the results as a formality.

I would say more, but since you've already got your results now it would all be pointless. How did you do?

It's so annoying when they're like that, because obviously you never know when something could have gone wrong (e.g. I got a D in the one exam I was actually happy with - just goes to show how much I know!) and it just adds so much more pressure!! But all's well that ends well I guess -I got an A in Sociology and a B in Citizenship, and for the three main ones I got A*AB! Which obviously isn't technically AAA, but I guess it balances out or something? They let me in anyway, which was a massive relief, and I'm really, really pleased. I only got the A* because I resat one of the History modules, so I'm really glad I did that.

I miss talking to you, is your MSN working? Mine keeps telling me I need to upgrade but then tries to get me to get Skype instead so I don't know if that means that MSN itself has gone completely bust or my computer's just really confused (my computer is really confused about a lot of things).
