When I was growing up it was called a "hobby farm" but that term really doesn't apply any more. See, these days hobby farms are more like sanctuaries than farms. Tomorrow is the start of Wisconsin's gun deer hunting season. Which explains the insane amount of traffic on the highway this evening. The season is late this year because it always starts the weekend before Thanksgiving. Up here hunting season is a huge deal. We have several apple trees, one of which is a Wolf River. The Wolf River is an apple tree native to Wisconsin and is considered an heirloom fruit. It also bears some of the largest apples in the world. And they are really, really good apples, too. Perfect for pies and cakes and applesauce.
