By the prompting of the 'evil' fluorescens I am uploading the '5' min word prompted drabbles/poems/thoughts that were a game we played over MSN. Suffice to say, she thinks these are great and has threatened me with bad things if I don't post them so she can put them in her memories ^^

So...I"m just giving you fair warning.

Inuyasha Drabble #1:

Flowers. They were normally of a weed variety, plucked daily from the fields and forests as we passed through them. How he missed them.

Sesshoumaru stared at nothing in particular, looking regal and isolated against the backdrop of sea and cliff. His tail whipped around him, fighting to push him over the edge with the weight tugging his shoulder, his back.

He almost let it.

The slight tang of salt eroded away the waning scent of a dried rose nestled in the palm of his hand. It wasn’t much really, but to him, it was the world. As the wind tugged again at his solitary figure, he let the blossom fall through his fingers, the wind accepting the offering in lieu of himself and sent it into the sea.

Turning away from the soothing expanse of emptiness, he walked back to his tired retainer. “Come Jaken,” he commanded, striding past the green toad.

As Jaken scurried to follow behind him, he imagined another emptiness left behind. An emptiness that had once been warm, living, breathing, and in love with the flowers.

Drabble #2:

The soothing tinkling in the background,
The refreshing touch of mist
The soothing lapping on the shore

Water.

How could I live without it?

It ebbed and waned until I was left stranded, alone on the bank,
But I always knew it’d come rushing back,
Back to where I was waiting patiently.

Sometimes, I wondered if I moved,
Would the tide still want to play with me?

I had no answers.

Still, the taste of salt on my lips,
The cool feel of it against my feet.
These were things I cherished in my day to day life.

It has always been there.
It will always remain.
It mattered not if I moved from these shores to find greener pastures.
It would still be waiting for me.

It was comforting, knowing the sea would remain.

FMA Drabble #3:

Roy swirled the amber colored liquid in the chipped glass before tasting its sweetness, letting the warm liquid run over his tongue and down his throat. His fingers tightened around the stem as he tilted his head back and downed the rest, lip catching slightly on the ragged edge of the glass.

Even the inanimate objects protested his presence.

He restrained the urge to toss the glass at the wall though a smile of satisfaction graced his lips as he imagined it shattering, the pieces thudding into the sandy ground. His fingers twitched as he gently sat the glass on the table in front of him. It was better if he didn’t. He would only end up with glass embedded in his feet.

Hawkeye entered the tent and glared at the reek of alcohol suffusing the confined space before saluting her superior.

“Sir,” she said, capturing his wandering attention. “The troops are ready to march.”

Mustang slammed his hands on the table, pushing himself to his feet. “Very well. I’ll be with you in a minute.”

Watching Hawkeye leave the tent, he let his gaze wander back to the glass and the ring of wine rapidly drying on the bottom. Nodding his head, he grabbed his jacket and exited the tent, blinking against the bright light of the sun. Perhaps he’d find himself a nice warm woman when they invaded town. At least then he’d know the reason why someone wanted to kill him.

Well... that's all of them. Now, its off to bed since I've been entirely unproductive today and I have yet to start on my iy_flashfic piece. I only have one idea that combines two of my prompts, but I'm a little hesisitant. It'll either be bittersweet or else fall very very flat. But, it's the only idea I have! So...I should try to get something written before deadline hits. This way, if it is a dud, then I can scramble around for another idea. Sigh...who knew it'd be this hard?
