So, a while ago my sister was supposed to send a pionus she adopted from a man to me, but it fell through because the airline she wanted to send him on didn't take birds. So now, she's sending him down with a friend who's driving to California. Problem is, she isn't going to send the cage "yet". And by yet I mean she claims she'll UPS it, but she is full of empty promises, meaning I'll probably have to buy him his own cage. In the meantime, she wants ME to put him in my cockatiels' Everyone's Favorite Cage, and put my 'tiels in one of my smaller cages.
I don't want to do this. Health hazards, for one, because I want my 'tiels to keep that cage since I bought it for THEM and don't want to have to scrub it down 20 times in case he is unhealthy [but from what I've seen and heard, he is very healthy and was with the same owner all his life], and I want them to have enough space. So I have a question...I have never had a bigger bird than a cockatiel, so what kind of cage would be best for a pionus? I don't think an EFC would work for him since the bar spacing is just the cockatiel size, but I could be wrong. Could I get any thoughts on this?
