Birdie Play Pen

Reginald's been having one of his days where if he's out and about, he's chewing on things he's not supposed to (the lampshade, the antique map of Europe, etc.) but if he's in his cage, he's screaming because we're not in there. I decided to compromise with him in his travel cage (a parakeet cage about 1 ft x 1 ft x 1.5 ft) on the coffee table, with food and water and toys. He gets to see us and talk to us, but he can't fly anywhere he's not supposed to go.

At first, he was pissed, as he prefers being able to cause trouble, but now he's perching nicely and quiet and exploring under the dishes of food and being very good. I'm happy that I have a way to hang out with him even when we're cooking or doing something else that we don't want him mucking with.
