Okay, it occurs to me that I have had psychotic luck moving with birds, and that in the next few months, there's a very real chance I could be moving to a different state (yet again). This time, I would really like to be adequately prepared.
The question is thus: What is your checklist of safety items to moving in a car and/or on a plane? We would more than likely be driving, but more information doesn't hurt.
Nemo is about 6 years old, has a harness that she's tolerant of, and loves outside. She has a traveling cage that she is comfortable spending a lot of time in (we drove from Texas to Ohio in three days). She doesn't like fruit, so I have to actually convince her to drink from either a dish or water bottle cap. The second is always first used as a chew toy, with the consumption of water secondary. -___-
The items I have so far:
- traveling cage
- harness
- first aid kit (like
this one)
- health certificate (some states and landlords require it, and all airlines I've been on require it for flying)
- container of food
- water bottle & dish
Am I missing anything? All of her toys and food and such are usually in a tote behind the driver's seat, but I have a small bag that I put everything important in (like the first aid kit).
