& finally, the newest addition to my household, Jordie. Jordie was the only bird for 15+ years of my 79yo neighbor, until four days ago. My neighbor gave him up under the advice of her doctor because she is on medication that causes excessive bleeding and Jordie is hand and cage aggressive. According to her, one bite could land her in the hospital, and although she loved him, it wasn't fair for him to be locked in his cage all day long. I felt badly taking him home with me, but his conditions were not pleasant, although the woman was well-meaning. He ate only seed, and lived in a cage smaller than one I would use as a travel cage for my budgies. His tailfeathers were destroyed and he had a film of grease on his feathers from never in his life having a bath. He has no idea what millet or treat sticks are and is wary of toys. He is also so stuck into a routine of not doing anything that he sits in one place, even when in a large cage and doesn't move, other than to preen and eat.
However, he is adorable and in the four days he has been with me, he has learned that hands give tasty foods. He is learning to step up very well and today he has started allowing me to scratch his head and stomach. He goes to the vet tomorrow, but for now is in very strict Q away from my other flock. I am doubtful he is carrying anything after 15 years as an only bird, but if this community has taught me anything it is to be cautious. Anyhow, onto pictures.

Now, a question!
Bailey has some very odd "stripes" on her feathers after this last molt. I have seen stress bars, and they tend to be very dark and black and give the feathers almost a "moth-eaten" look, but these are just variations in the..pigment almost. Here is the best picture I could get:
I wonder if anyone else has experienced this, and if you had found a cause? Bail goes in for her vet visit next month and I'll be sure to ask my vet then. I'm just curious though! I think it's kind of pretty, but I can only wonder if it is something to do with her diet/supplements.
TIA!
