Hello again! Just posting some updates on Nikki and Romeo, my jerk birds who hate non-seed food.

Fortunately, they are starting to eat pellets more and more, but Nikki keeps it about equal with his seed, while Romeo will go for the pellets about 80% of the time. I recently wasn't home for a few days in a row so I had to break their schedule and leave their seed in there constantly since my grandfather doesn't seem to believe me about their food. I still haven't started going back to their normal schedule yet, but they seem to be doing fine.

Also; how do you know when a bird is overweight? Maybe it's just her size, but Romeo always feels ridiculously heavy in comparison to Nikki(who is, admittedly, a smaller bird) and she just seems... chunkier. It's just odd, I think, because she's always flying around so it's not that she isn't exercising or anything. Do females tend to be heavier than males in your experiences?

I also found someone giving away a great flight cage for $80 on Craigslist, so I'm picking that up on Thursday. On the same day, I'm visiting someone who needs to give away their Bourke's Parakeets-- and possibly taking them home. Does anybody here have any experience with Bourke's, firsthand or otherwise? This pair isn't hand-tame, would you find them easily trainable? I don't really want to, but if it makes things easier should their wings be clipped(if they aren't already)?

I have a video on my phone of Nikki and Romeo taking a bath, so once I figure out how to upload that maybe I'll edit it in here.

Edit: Right, I forgot to mention-- Nikki and Romeo completely tore up their twisted rope perch(now it's all... fluffy and soft). Is there any danger of them ripping it to far/going too far down?
