Caw day out.

May 24, 2009 18:00

Since it's such a beautiful day out, and since Schrödinger is going to go be a show and tell bird this week for a class, we figured it was probably time to make sure we really could put his harness on. :)

The players:

Schrödinger, a 1 year old male scarlet macaw. Afraid of nothing, bolder than snot.
Theodore, a 19 year old male blue and gold macaw. Terrified of everything, sort of horrified about the entire situation.

Doing the splits.

Show off.

Love me for my beauty.

Love me even more for my personality.

Theo says, 'I am not nearly as comfortable as babycaw.'.

However, if there's nuts, I'll manage.

Appreciating the view.

Caws in JAIL.

Beautiful old man.

Whatcha doing?

Getting a little loving.

Mmmm, love.

He is so funny, he LOVES to lick things.

And sometimes to just hang on people.

Back to playing!

And now caw outdoors! As you can see from the picture, he is wearing a harness. No parrot should go outside unrestrained unless they're an expert free flier or physically handicapped. For example, Theo, the blue and gold, can't stretch out one wing fully, so he can go outside without restraint. Babycaw is a GREAT flier, and cannot. :)

I love photogenic parrots.

Seriously.

We've been working on 'eagle wings' recently. :)

He's getting better. And still molting, you can see he's growing in some new primaries. :)

Then it's time for a little love.

And then a quick recall.

Which creates a funny picture.

Bye bye now!
