As a good socialist, I'm in favour of the even redistribution of wealth. Which is why it bothers me so that the only people at work who are enjoying an open and varied sex life with a wide range of people are the ones who are already married. Unfair, surely?
Of course, where this leads us back to is sexual jealousy, an emotion I've already rhapsodized over to so many of my friends, and doubtless somewhere in this LiveJournal too. I'm fascinated by the taboo nature of it - it's neither something that a macho man should feel, nor a girly girl. An old friend went up a hundredfold in my estimations when she said she'd started to hate someone purely because he'd recently entered a sexual relationship. I thought that was a fantastically honest thing to say.
Of course, in my recent, thoroughly emotion-free, state, I was probably guilty of sentimentalizing something which is fun to reminisce about but not much fun to experience. If I was a religious man, I'd say that God was punishing me. But I'm not a religious man, so I blame Tim.
