Jack Chick obsessed
Recently I seem to have become interested in Jack T Chick. I have known of Jack Chick for a number of years after entering into a local christian shop in Northampton and finding some of his little comics and been somewhat appalled that a mainstream shop had these tracts in it. Jack Chick if you are unaware of him is fundamentalist christian who through small comics spreads a culture of fear and hate.
Jack is anti-semetic, homophobic, anti catholic, racist, against Halloween and a 7 day creationist (anti-evolution) amongst many other things. You may say "so is George Bush or The Pope to some of the above but let me tell you in comparison to Jack Chick you would be more likely to find George W Bush wearing sandals in Hyde Park giving a war protest before going to his afternoon job at a stem cell research clinic. Jack believes that Jesus died for your sins any other things the bible says about Jesus are omitted, he believes gay and Lesbian people choose their sexuality and that they give in to the Devil with their lifestyles. The comics have people often dying in them and going to hell, confronted by evil horned Demons these are designed to frighten children at times. He often portrays secular indiviiduals as insane devil worshippers who go insane in the face of being questioned. There are thousands of things he says and believes that are insane in including Pumpkins in pre-Roman Britain, world conspiracies, and satan fuelled plans to get people to worship science. And he believes it all, he really does there is someone out there who has these ideas in their head and is not under 24 hour watch.
These Tracts are apparantly favored by missionaries who may be introducing a view of western culture which is false to cultures and peoples with limited access to other media devices.
Let me make one thing clear everything that Jack Chick believes and stands for I AM COMPLETELY AGAINST.
