Medley

You are the superlative note
Matchless
Fished from a profusion of cacophony
Transcendent in tone and tincture
But you layer who you are in self effacing barbs
You defer praise, easily shrugged off as if rain, passing in it's impact and importance
You apply indifference and distance like theatre make-up, a beautifully constructed and altogether unimpeachable disguise
Your heart strong but pale
Used, but rarely ever or maybe never espying the light of day
Perhaps you're keeping it aesthetically pure
White as the choicest veal
Tender and ready to be devoured
By just the right someone
I've no designs of taking from you
No plots, plans, or blueprints of how to  take you down, apart or undo you
I'd like to love you
Armor and all
I know the marvelment, the never to be repeated epic that you are
A live coal burning in the sea
Yet you hide your light under a bushel
Assuring all, there's nothing to be known or evidenced here
Not a darn thing in sight but miles of unremarkability, you tell us
Tell me
But I persist
Like the thorn in Paul's side
I remain here for a reason
You should not have braved the depths of my sentiment or affection
Fastidious and zetetic
You sought me out
Rarely has God doled out such fortune
For as you dug a bit, inquisitive and piqued
I discovered a rare and shining soul
Do as you please, one who I would call brother
But you must pardon, forebear, and indulge (if you may, if you can)
For I have shored these bonds
To the point where there can be no distinction
Where one ends and the other begins
