So, as I may say, I've had a lovely week so far. Normally, knowing me, this would be a vacation consisting of me sitting around, reading comics, listening to music, and watching Seinfeld with my Mi'im. But no! Not this week! I actually have DONE stuff! (Gasp!)
Friday was simply that Clark, Rachael, and I went out to the little local Japanese restaurant about a four minute walk from the house. For dessert we got Mochi icecream because it is by far the most delicious thing in the world. Since it was Mi'im's money and I felt that Theo'd be sad if I said I ate mochi, I asked for two more orders to take home... she gave me a funny look and it was all NOO!! I'm not going to eat them all myself! Really! She even looked at me and said: you really like them, eh? Or something along those lines. Yes, I do, but..... they aren't for me!
On Sunday, I woke up and bang! I was hanging out with Rachael! (We were bored, and decided being bored together could be more interesting.) She came over and we played Soul Calibur II because it's only the best fighting game ever where the girls wear short skirts or no skirts, and a lot of the guys wear short shirts or no shirts. (Hooray!) Of course, this game gets boring after a while, so off we went to find an "aesthetically pleasing" rock, which of course means that it has to be not flat and be very curvy. I myself prefer simple rocks, but in Mr. Farell's art class, you need to do it his way. So Warp! Off we went, and spent a good half hour looking through piles of rocks.
If you've ever been to a beach with rocks, you know that you can't come home with just one rock. So, filling shirts and handbags with rocks, we waddled home and whipped out the acrylics. My front stairs are now decorated with geishas, bobs, monsters, a chicken, and a rock with... rocks glued to it... (woo we are so creative!)
Then we went inside and watched silly music videos until it got boring and we ate dinner. Later we walked to Richdales with Gramma and bought a lot of candy and junk and somehow ate pretty much all of it. (We are so healthy.) I'm pretty sure we did other stuff too, like looking at my Nana artbook, but I can't remember right now.
On Monday I woke up and was tired, but Rachael and Clark and I went to calling each other until we decided that we were in fact going to the Garment District to buy clothes by the dollar (fifty) a pound. Mi'im drove us to Wonderland and we took the T to the shop and promptly got lost. Of course, we also discovered that there is the coolest building ever there. It's gorgeous and sheet metal in places, pale wood in others. It comes up and turns like a cartoon building, then the windows stick out like sore thumbs only SQUARE! it was stupendous. But when we finally found it, Clark decided not to do the dollar a pound even though he was the one who seemed to look forward to it the most... (I bought three pounds and Rachael got five.) Then we went upstairs where it's crazy thrifty clothes and I went off to search for baggy jeans for my L costume for AnimeBoston. (Which isn't too hard, he wears
jeans and a long sleeved shirt...) So I got two pairs of jeans! It was amazing! I couldn't believe that out of the four pairs I tried on, four fit! THAT'S NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE! It was glorious... But then somehow I cut my finger, or rubbed it raw, because before I knew it I felt like I was sucking copper and I had a couple dots on my melt and die shirt. Woo! But anyway, I like it when you get nice pants for only 9-14 dollars. Then I bought LEG WARMERS! I love them! Leg warmers are more expensive that one of my pants. Or.. two of my pants? Should it be plural.....? Anyway! Then we went to China Town by the T (we got confused and this very lovely lady guided us around and took us to the right stop and told us how long to stay on... she was so nice) and finally we were there! But we couldn't find any good Chinese places, so we ate at Pho Pasteur, because I remember going there last time I went to AnimeBoston with Jen and Elise, and it was really good. But this time it tasted amazing!! It was stupendous. I loved it so much... Then we went to the little herbs/gifts place and bought a lot of candy like I did last time I was in China Town. But hooray! When we were in San Francisco we found these beautiful little bowl/plates that were blue and brown and had little cherry blossoms on them. But Mi'im never got them and was devistated later, so when we went to the little herb place I looked and I FOUND THEM! So now Mi'im has four little blue sakura bowls! :D (Warp!)
After we pretty much went home, which a crap-load of candy (I only got three, but Rachael had a TON) and we ate on the way home.
In Tenshi Nanka Janai, the cutest best comic ever, always seems to have Midori eating Marble chocolate. I found them! Next time I'm going to get them, but this time I couldn't resist getting the strawberry bunny chocolate instead.
...I really want strawberry mochi right now... can anyone guess my favorite flavor for asian candy/desserts? I bet you can't!
