First piece of furniture I've purchased for our home in a long time (that wasn't a bookcase, heh). I've been looking for a sofa table for months now, pretty much the day after one of the legs of our current sofa table broke off. Granted,
furious_g did a good job of "gluing and screwing" it back on, but after that Iwas terribly wary of its time left on this earth.
I didn't quite know what I wanted, which is why it took so long...but I think this is pretty much perfect. I love the fact that there's not only storage inside (which we definitely need), but that the trays underneath both tuffets mean that we can eat on it -- like we do for every @home meal, dining tables be damned -- AND I can put my feet on it without GMan losing his shyte...heehee...
I had to go full-steam ahead and buy it myself (though GMan is picking it up today, heh), as he was perfectly happy with our current table.
...never mind that the SECOND leg broke off this week, and is currently being held up with a lot of smacking and swearing. There is so much sawdust under the table right now from the leg trying to destroy itself, it looks like a carpentry shop in the living room. "Glue-and-screw", my arse. Time to go, ya cheap piece of particleboard.
...and no, I didn't pay that price. ;o)
P.S.: For the record, I was also looking to find a previously-used piece, thru SwapCity, ebay, and kijiji for the last several months, but I could never find what I wanted. So yes, my ecologically-minded friends, I *did* try to reduce my consumption. :o)
