I have two categories for pet peeves: petty peeves that really aren't that big of a deal, and significant gripes about human nature.

Biggest Petty Pet Peeve: People who aren't paying attention when they're driving and keep their windshield wipers going after the rain has stopped.  The sound drives me NUTS.

Given?  Yes.  Received?  No, unfortunately.

It's amazing how receptive strangers are when you take the time to listen if they appear to be having a rough day.  It's equally surprising how many will accept a hug (although a few instantly get the "deer in the headlights" look and make a quick exit).
