Blizzard.
Already, six or seven inches of snow, with the storm due to last at least another fifteen hours. Sometimes, the wind is so strong that the snow falls up. People are trapped at school; the shuttles stopped running at 9 because of accidents. Lake Shore Drive is partially closed, and there are probably a couple of CTA buses stranded out there still.
Well, I've been in Chicago long enough for floods and earthquakes. Time to pony up for a blizzard such as one doesn't see in several decades.
Dayum.
In other news, I guess Wednesday morning's as good a time as any to make steamed sticky rice cake for my Chinese friend for Chinese New Year. The cake takes a long time, but what else have I got? It's not like I can leave the building.
In further news, Gov. Quinn signed Illinois's civil unions bill. Any same-sex couples who can manage to dig themselves out of the snowdrifts by June can be civilly united. Yaaaaaaayyyyy!
