This and That of the Past 2 Weeks

A friend of mine has been asking me about my lack of updates on LJ. The thing is that life is pretty much the same from day to day so there is not much to update. There is coaching Dominic in the morning, getting the lunch out and sending him to school all done in the first half of the day. Then, after Roll Roll goes down for his nap, I will either do my own stuff (e.g. surfing, reading) or run errands, meet friends and also instruct the maid to prepare dinner. In the evening, the usual stuff is to cook dinner (the maid does not cook dinner), pick Dominic up from school and then family time.

Recently, I met up with an old friend, who is also a SAHM. The one thing that we both absent-mindedly do all the time was to check with ourselves, or with each other, what day was the day or the next day. Is this a trait of SAHMs? We constantly need to remind ourselves what day it is in order to remember what engagements we have , e.g. what day which kid comes home when, or what day which kid has some lessons when.

This LJ thing is also like a community thing, where I find fellowship and interaction with friends and fellow moms online. In the past few months, I have found an alternative avenue that kind of caused me to have less need to interact through the LJ. I am thankful for this new avenue (you know who you are) as it is one of the best things that have happened to me in the last few months.

Anyway, here are the things that have happened recently :

First of all, the bento that Dominic requested for :

Bunny apples, honey chicken and open-face inarizushi.

This came on Valentine's Day.

Last weekend, we brought the boys to Casuarina for prata breakfast and a walk to the Lower Pierce Reservoir :

Last Wednesday was Dominic's birthday. No big celebration. As usual, just a cake at home and I cooked his favourite dish, which he requested for. He got yet another set of LEGO from us as a present.

Monday was my birthday and Richard brought me to Absinthe for lunch.

That's about all, folks!
